What was known as simple rumour is now reality,the Director in charge of Communication for Groupe Anecdote(Visio’4), confirms the arrest and detention of their Chief Executive Officer,Mr Jean Pierre Amougou Belinga in an investigative procedure linked to the brutal murder of a Yaounde based Journalist and General Manager of Amplitude Radio,Mr Martinez Zogo.
To recall is that Mr Martinez Zogo was found dead in the early hours of January 22nd ,2023 after being kidnapped by unknown men on his way home..
He was author of a prominent news broadcast known as « EMBOUTEILLAGE » in French language on Amplitude Radio,Yaounde..Few weeks before he was kidnapped,he focused his attention on some specific accounts at the Ministry of Finance meant for financing specific economic projects in Cameroon…He published a list of contracts received by the owner of Anecdote Newspaper,Mr Jean Pierre Amougou Belinga and financed by the Ministry of Finance under line 65 and 94 which amounted to several billions of francs CFA and made that his daily battle field…Once he was declared missing,fingers were immediately pointed to Mr Amougou Belinga and others…
Investigations led to the arrest of several security offices as well as the Chief Executive Officer of Anecdote Group alongside , his Général Manager,Mr Bruno Bidjang …
If the death of Mr Zogo has today become an international affair,worthy to note is that there is a serious power tussel amongst some members of Government as well as within the presidential security…Given the age of President Paul Biya,two camps are fighting to have control over the unity palace..
Though the international community including the press family believe that there is a problem of freedom of speech in Cameroon,on the other hand,many have termed the death of Mr Zogo as score settlement between the clan from the East headed by the Secretary General at the Presidency and that from the South region headed by Mr Louis Paul MOTAZE,Minister of finance …
The arrest of Mr Jean Pierre Amougou Belinga is a determinant factor and a time bomb as he appear to be the flag bearer of many barrons .. However,the days ahead shall permit us to have a clearer view on the political future of Cameroon in a context where several names are being cited for having participated in the killings of the journalist…
