MEDIA RECOGNITION IN CAMEROON:Crtv Journalist ,AMY Banda celebrated as peace crusader of the year  by Victoria International Media Merit Award,VIMMA 2022.

Standing for Peace, Spreading Peace, Inspiring Peace building to accepting the VIIMMA 2022 Peace Journalist of the Year Award, Amy is compelled to feed her focus and attention on peace, more than ever, so together in solidarity despite the difference and diversity , global denizens will make intentional choices to build blocks of peace.

Powered by Dash Media, Fueled and Sponsored by SONARA, the annual VIIMMA seeks to honor merit in different categories. Amy the Peace Preacher & Promoter plans honoring Cameroon and Africa with more reports and projects that empower those who most exemplify peace.

Amy BANDA was chosen to receive the Victoria International Media Merit Peace Award in recognition of her luminous, peaceful spirit and her generous and compassionate action and transformative peace work with people and projects on the 237 media landscape.

The recently elected President of WILPF International, Sylvie Jacqueline Ndongmo, her father Ephraim BANDA GHOGOMU whom she fondly calls « The Arch journalist », one of her mentees Assaah Nzota, her colleague the CAMP boss Solomon Agborem, or her late friends Lulu Favour Efange & Elah Geoffrey Mbongale will tell you anytime that Amy BANDA exemplifies what it would be like if we could all “be against nothing, but just stand for peace”.

It was a beautiful heart-expanding Friday which was also the International Youth Day marked under the theme « Intergenerational Solidarity: Creating a World for all ages » to share with those who gathered in the Limbe City Council in the South West Region of Cameroon, the work Amy BANDA so selflessly engages in — from orphanages for children in Limbe through VOV, to working tirelessly for the widows who named her « Mother of Widows », to projects that empower young women and girls in many divisions, and Internally Displaced Persons in the West Region, to reporting with the intention to shed light on structural and cultural causes of violence, as they impact upon the lives of people in a conflict arena as part of the explanation for violence. In the process, Amy has had to spotlight individuals and initiatives that seek harmonious conditions, leading to constructive public dialogues about issues that pertain to peace, justice and equity.

With a grateful heart, on behalf of all those everywhere who are more peaceful because of Amy BANDA, thank you. You truly deserved this 2022 VIIMMA Peace Journalist of the Year Award.
